Potter, the long-time owner of ‘home of darts’, the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green, Surrey, passed away, aged 94.
His death announced ‘with great sadness’ by the World Darts Federation (WDF) on Friday, April 14.

Potter was awarded the OBE in 1993 after playing a pivotal role in British and world darts. As the owner of the iconic Lakeside Country Club, he allowed his venue to play host to the Darts World Championships from 1986 to 2019.
Potter established Lakeside in 1972 when he bought Wharfenden House as well as the surrounding grounds and lake.
He soon doubled the size of the hall which also played host to comedy acts such as Tommy Cooper and Morecambe and Wise.
