“We look forward to continuing his legacy at the venue over at least the next three years.
“At this sad time, the thoughts of the WDF family are with Bob’s loved ones and we express our sincere condolences to his family and friends.”
Potter bought what came to be known as Lakeside Country Club in 1972 when it was still called ‘Wharfenden House’. He then went on to double the hall within the area to 1000 seats, initially as a space to host comedians and musicians.
Lakeside Country Club eventually became one of the most iconic venues for world darts and remained just that for over 30 years.
Potter, owner & Managing Director of The Lakeside Group of Companies (Bob Potter Leisure Ltd), built Lakeside Country Club from very humble beginnings and his vision resulted in the growth of the Club.
