Sir David Frederick Attenborough is a broadcaster, biologist, natural historian and author known for hosting the nine natural history documentary series forming the Life collection on BBC.

Born on May 8, 1926, in England, Attenborough attended Clare College, Cambridge during the 1940s, and bagged a degree in geology, zoology and natural sciences.

In 1952 he began working with the BBC as a producer for the Talks department, producing non-fiction broadcasts. Back then, he was known for quiz show Animal, Vegetable, Mineral?, Zoo Quest, and Song Hunter.

Attenborough rose to become one of BBC’s senior executives, and served as both controller of BBC Two and director of programming.

Attenborough wrote, narrated and presented Natural World, Wildlife on One, the Planet Earth franchise, The Blue Planet and its sequel.

He remains the only individual to have won BAFTA Awards in black and white, colour, high-definition, 3D and 4K resolutions.
