Woody Harrelson is an actor and writer, known for playing the role of bartender Woody Boyd in the NBC sitcom Cheers from 1985 to 1993.

Harrelson was born on July 23, 1961, in Texas, United States.

The five-time Emmy Award nominee had reprised his role in the spinoff series Frasier.

Harrelson has since starred in various movies such as The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996), The Messenger (2009), Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), White Men Can’t Jump (1992), Natural Born Killers (1994), Kingpin (1996), The Thin Red Line (1998), No Country for Old Men (2007), Zombieland (2009), Rampart (2011), Seven Psychopaths (2012), Now You See Me (2013), The Edge of Seventeen (2016), LBJ (2016), Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), The Man from Toronto (2022) and Triangle of Sadness (2022).

Other films he has appeared include The Hunger Games film series (2012-2015), Game Change (2012), True Detective (2014), and White House Plumbers (2023).

Harrelson has received five Emmy Award s nominations, out of which he won one in 1989.

He has also received two Screen Actors Guild Awards, three Academy Awards nominations and four Golden Globe Awards.
