CJ McCollum suffered an “L3 vertebral transverse process fracture (non-displaced)” while playing in the NBA’s restart at Disney World.

CJ McCollum played college basketball for the Lehigh Mountain Hawks and was named the Patriot League Player of the Year in both 2010 and 2012. He became the first player to ever enter the league out of the private school, Lehigh.

CJ McCollum was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the tenth overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. He was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player during his third year in the league in 2015–16.

On December 22, 2022, CJ McCollum put up 40 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists in a 126–117 win over the San Antonio Spurs.

CJ McCollum joined Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, and Tyreke Evans as the only players in Pelicans history to put up at least 40 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in a game.
