English singer and songwriter, Mick Hucknall revealed that he had an absent mother, Maureen Taylor while growing up. According to him, his mum bolted when he was a child with an excuse that she had cancer.

He once shared during an interview that there is no place for his mother in his heart because she never had love for him.

“She wasn’t there, and consequently, I don’t even know her,” he said.

He made several songs about how much he has been pained about her leaving him and his dad all by themselves.

When Hucknall was asked how he thinks his mother would feel when she hears such songs, he shared.

“She should have thought of that before she abandoned us – and then went on to abandon another family, and two more kids, and ended up with four marriages. People who have had a mum and dad find it hard to understand – there wasn’t even like a mum replacement figure because my dad never married again. As far as I am concerned I had my dad and there isn’t another side. She can live her life and I won’t harbour a grudge,” he expressed bitterly.
