Mick Hucknall Parents: Who are Reg Hucknall and Maureen Taylor?

Reg Hucknall and Maureen Taylor were the parents of English singer and songwriter, Mick Hucknall. He was only three years old when his mother abandoned him and his father.

“She abandoned us – and then went on to abandon another family, and two more kids, and ended up with four marriages. People who have had a mum and dad find it hard to understand – there wasn’t even like a mum replacement figure because my dad never married again. As far as I am concerned I had my dad and there isn’t another side. She can live her life and I won’t harbour a grudge,” Hucknall expressed bitterly in an interview a while ago.

He made a song to pay tribute to his dad who died in 2009.

“She left, you stayed, it really wasn’t that simple at all. She left, she’s gone,” he said in the song.

Maureen made contact with her so in the mid-90s when he rose to fame. Apparently, the initial excuse she told Hucknall and his father about her having cancer was false.
