Triston Casas is the second-generation Cuban of his family. Luis Manuel Casas, his grandfather, emigrated to the United States from Cuba in the 1960s to escape the rule of then-Cuban President Fidel Castro.
His father, Jose Casas, was born in the United States and later married his mother, Christine, with whom he had two children. Triston’s mother, Christine, is from the Bronx, New York.

Triston Casas attended American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida, where he played both corner infield positions. In 53 games played over two varsity seasons at American Heritage, Casas had a.414 batting average, 11 home runs, and 53 runs batted in (RBIs).
To be eligible for the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft, he reclassified and graduated high school a year early. He appeared in both the 2016 and 2017 Under Armour All-America Baseball Games.
He was drafted in the first round of the 2018 MLB draft by the Red Sox, and he made his MLB debut in 2022. He batted.197 with five home runs and 12 RBIs in 27 games with Boston.In January 2023, he was ranked 29th among the top 100 prospects by Baseball America.
