Carlos Correa is not playing because he has withdrawn from the World Baseball Classic 2023, noting that it was an “entirely family-oriented decision.”

On January 11, 2023, Correa re-signed with the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball for six years and $200 million plus vesting options that could increase the value of the deal to $270 million.

Carlos Javier Correa Oppenheimer Jr was born on September 22, 1994, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. At the 2012 PG World Showcase, Carlos Correa established a PG record with a 97-mile-per-hour throw across the infield.

On June 4, 2012, the Astros selected Carlos Correa as the first overall pick in the 2012 MLB draft. In 2020, Carlos Correa batted .264/.326/.383 with five home runs and 25 RBIs in 201 at-bats.

In 2021, Carlos Correa batted .279/.366(9th in the AL)/.485 with 104 runs (7th), 26 home runs, and 92 RBIs, and grounded into 16 double plays (10th).

In the 2022 season, Carlos Correa batted .291/.366/.467 in 522 at-bats with 70 runs, 22 home runs, and 64 RBIs.

Carlos Correa made his MLB debut with the Astros in 2015, winning the American League (AL) Rookie of the Year Award.
