Nelson Cruz is a Dominican–American baseball player who plays as a designated hitter and right fielder for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Born on July 1, 1980, in Dominican Republic, Cruz has been an MLB All-Star seven times and is well known for his power hitting.

Cruz began playing in the major league in 2005, when he joined the Milwaukee Brewers.
