Neil was heavily drunk and intoxicated and over the blood alcohol limit, however, he sat in his De Tomaso Pantera car with his friend Razzle.

Razzle was seated in the car when it crashed with another car that had multiple of its passengers heavily injured. Unfortunately, he was the only one who died in the crash. He was pronounced dead at around 7:12 pm after he was taken to the hospital.

Neil was sentenced by a Los Angeles Supreme Court judge, Edward Hinz Jr, to 30 days in jail and five years probation in 1985. He was also ordered to pay $2.6 million in restitution to the victims of the crash and undergo 200 hours of community service.
According to sources, Neil was extremely cocky and careless and just wanted to show off his driving skills and how fast he could go with his new whip. Unluckily for Razzle, he was caught up in the merry moment and ended up losing his life.
