Jacques Haitkin was an American cinematographer/director of photography, who worked on Nightmare on Elm Street movies. He died on March 21, 2023, after over 5 years of being diagnosed with ALS – also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He died of ALS and pneumonia. He was 72 years old at the time of death.

He worked on A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) – directed by Wes Craven, and A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985) – directed by Jack Sholder.

Haitkin also worked on several popular movies in his career; most of which raked in a good amount of money at the box office. He manned the camera and did second-unit work on three of the Fast & Furious franchise, two Captain America movies, Cherry 2000, Last Man Standing (1995), The Expendables (2010), X-Men: First Class, Kong: Skull Island, Black Panther, Venom, and more.
He was born on August 29, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, to a man who owned a chain of dry cleaners. He attended the New York University School of Arts.
