He had a double-bogey 6 on his opening hole and a front-nine score of 4-over 40. Na is starting at the Masters for the 12th time. He has a strong track record there, finishing in the top 15 on each of his last three outings.
Na has made the decision to withdraw from the Masters because he plans to leave the PGA Tour in June 2022 and join the Saudi Arabian-sponsored LIV Golf League.

Na tied for the 22nd position in the LIV Orlando competition last week. After Na withdrew, there are only 17 LIV Golf athletes left in the Masters.
The 18 competitors in the field will wait on the 18th green on Sunday afternoon to celebrate the winner if a LIV player wins the tournament, according to Greg Norman, the CEO of LIV Golf, who was not invited to the year’s first major.
At 8 a.m. ET, Mike Weir, the captain of the 2024 Presidents Cup International Team, will play the first round of the Masters by himself rather than with Mike Na.
