Delonte West was traded from the Seattle Supersonics to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a three-team deal in the early months of 2008. He scored a season-high 20 points for the Cavaliers against the Boston Celtics just six days after the trade.

West signed a three-year, $12.7 million contract with the Cavaliers later that year, when he served as the backup point guard and shooting guard. He earned accolades for his skills by standing out as a brilliant outside shooter and a superb backcourt defender.

After that, West was acquired by the Minnesota Timberwolves, but he didn’t stay long. Late in 2010, he signed a one-year contract with his former team, the Boston Celtics, to serve as Rajon Rondo’s backup point guard.

However, as a result of his guilty plea to the guns charges, his contract was terminated. Following that, from 2011 to 2012, West was a player with the Dallas Mavericks before making a brief career move overseas.

On October 16, he was let out of custody, but since then, nothing has changed regarding his condition.
