This will be the first time in US history that a sitting or past president will be charged with a crime.

Trump is set to be arraigned before the Manhattan grand jury, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023

According to Trump, the allegation is a “Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history.”

The Manhattan district attorney’s office has been conducting investigations over Trump’s payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential elections.

Stormy Daniels, a porn star, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was reportedly paid $130,000 by trump to keep quiet about their illegal sexual affair.

What Does Trump Indictment Mean?

Usually, an indictment is not a conviction, but a formal written list of accusations against a suspect in trial or awaiting trial.

For Trump, the indictment would mean that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will proceed with criminal charges, which will be laid bare in court on Tuesday.
