Melissa’s mother, Paula, is a producer and talent manager. After her divorce from her husband, William, Paula married TV executive Leslie Gilliams, who appeared in the fifth episode of MasterChef in 2014.
Paula produced Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Watcher in the Woods (2017), and A Very Merry Toy Store (2017).
Paula and her husband own an estate in Malibu, California, worth $2.6 million USD.

Hart made news recently when she surfaced as one of the people that helped rescue children during the Nashville school shooting.
According to her, she was close to Nashville’s Covenant School during the incident.
