Robert Davis is the father of North Carolina basketball star R.J Davis.

Robert, is a former basketball player, who played for Mercy College from 1982 to 1986.
Robert had recorded 2,118 points (without a three-point shot), and still holds “the Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., school’s career scoring record.”
He is one of his son’s biggest role models.

R. J. Davis is a college basketball player who plays as a point guard for the North Carolina Tar Heels of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
Born on October 21, 2001, in New York, Davis had his high school career at Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York, where he led his team to a 27–5 record.

In 2020, he began playing college basketball at North Carolina, averaging 8.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 35.0 percent from the floor in his first year.
Davis named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team as a result.
He also took part in the CHSAA city championship and the New York State Federation championship as a sophomore.
In total, Davis averaged 25.4 points, seven rebounds, four assists and 1.7 steals per game in his junior season.
Davis remains “the first Tar Heel to score 30 points and post 5 rebounds and 5 assists in an NCAA tournament game.”
In 2023, Davis entered his senior season in North Carolina.
