Although he did not win any titles in the NBA, Christian Laettner led Duke University to two NCAA championships, one runner-up finish, and one appearance in the Final Four.

During his four-year career, he appeared in 23 of 24 possible NCAA games, winning 21 of them. Duke retired his No. 32 jersey, and he was named USA Male Basketball Athlete of the Year in 1991.

Christian Laettner still holds the records for the most points (407), free throws made (142), free throw attempts (167), and games won (21). He is also remembered for his clutch performances in college, most notably the pinafore he hit against Kentucky in the regional final.

His Duke Blue Devils college career is widely regarded as one of the best in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) history. He was drafted third overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves and went on to play 13 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for six different teams, earning All-Star honours in 1997.
