On August 3, 2022, UConn announced that Paige Bueckers had torn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee during a pick-up game on August 1.

Paige Bueckers underwent surgery on August 5 and is expected to miss the upcoming 2022-23 season. Bueckers was the youngest member of the senior national team at the 2019 World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar.

Paige Bueckers started playing basketball at age five. She played for the tenth-grade and junior varsity basketball teams at Hopkins High School in Minnetonka while in seventh grade.
On December 10, 2019, Paige Bueckers was honored as USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year. Bueckers became the first player in program history to have three straight 30-point games at UConn.
Paige Bueckers’s 24 points in the first round of the 2021 NCAA tournament were the most by a UConn player in their tournament debut.
