Regé-Jean Page appeared in several television shows, including BBC One’s Waterloo Road (2015), History’s Roots (2016), and ABC’s For the People (2018-2019).
Regé-Jean Page was cast as one of the leads in the first season of the Netflix period drama Bridgerton, another Shondaland project, in 2019. It was released in December 2020 and is based on the Regency romance novel The Duke and I.

The show was a critical success, and Page received an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series presented by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, as well as being named to Time magazine’s 100 Next List in 2021.
For the role, he was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy. Page appeared in the Netflix film The Gray Man in 2022, which received mixed reviews.
Page was described by David Ehrlich of IndieWire as “miserable in the role of a gallingly basic villain,” and by Nicholas Barber of the BBC as “one-dimensionally evil.”
