American actress, Reese Witherspoon named her son, Tennessee because he wanted him to bare the name of the state she grew up in, and also, make it impossible for her friends to guess whether it was a boy or girl as soon as he was born.

Her close friend, Chelsea Handler, shared that Witherspoon would not reveal the baby’s gender when she gave birth.
“She wouldn’t tell me she was having a boy or a girl. Then she said she’s pretty sure someone was reading their texts,” she jokingly said.
