Dafydd Hywel was an actor known for appearing in many Welsh and English films and TV productions.

Born on December 4, 1945, in Garnant Wales, Hywel began acting in1969.
He came to prominence after starring as Glen Brennig in the Sky1 TV comedy drama series Stella.
Hywel played the role of William Haggar in the bilingual film A Penny for Your Dreams/I Fro Breuddwydion.
He acted alongside Samuel L Jackson and Dame Judi Dench in Miss Peregerine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

Hywel passed away from an undisclosed cause, on March 23, 2023. He was aged 77.
He has been described as “an amazing actor and a man of great principles, whose contribution to Welsh films is unmistakable.”
Hywel is survived by his wife, Gwenilian, and three children – Elena, Robert and Rhys.
Tributes have continued to pour in from across the globe for the late actor.
Today’s news is a blow. We were great friends for years”, said John Pierce Jones, his friend since the 1970s.
“He has left his mark – there will only be one DH”, he added.
