Mike Brey is an American college basketball coach. He was born in Bethesda, Maryland, U.S. Mike Brey graduated in 1977 from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Mike Brey earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from George Washington University in 1982. Mike Brey is currently the head men’s basketball coach at the University of South Florida.
Before becoming the head coach at the University of South Florida, Mike Brey was the head coach at Notre Dame. In his first season at Notre Dame, Brey was named the Big East Coach of the Year, and he has gone on to win the award multiple times throughout his career.

In the 2015-2016 period, Notre Dame advanced to the Elite Eight for the second consecutive season, defeating Michigan, Stephen F. Austin, and Wisconsin as the 6 seed in the East region. Notre Dame lost to North Carolina 88–74 in the Elite Eight.
Mike Brey has also been named the Associated Press Coach of the Year and has been inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame and the Montgomery County Coaches Hall of Fame.
