Who is the goalie for St. Louis Blues?

Joel Hofer is the goalie for the ice hockey team, St. Louis Blues, of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Born on July 30, 2000, in Manitoba, Canada, Hofer played hockey as a junior in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Swift Current Broncos and the Portland Winterhawks.

In 2018, the Blues selected him as 107th overall in the fourth round, of the NHL Entry Draft.

The following year, he signed a three-year deal with the team, and became “the youngest goaltender to win his NHL debut with the Blues.”

Aside from the Blues, Hofer has played for the Springfield Thunderbirds.

On January 3, 2023, the Blues extended Hofer’s contract for another two years. The contract this time was worth $1.55 million.

Hofer has won a number of awards so far in his career. In 2018, he was Swift Current Broncos Champion, in 2020, he was named to the second All-Star team.

Also in 2020, Hofer won the Best Goaltender award at the International World Junior Championships.
