Ed Cooley took over as head coach of Fairfield University in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in 2006. Cooley’s teams went 92-69 overall and 58-32 in the conference over five seasons.
Fairfield advanced to postseason play in 2009-10 with a 23-11 record, setting an NCAA Division I postseason record by overcoming a 27-point halftime deficit to win in overtime over George Mason in the 2010 CollegeInsider.com Tournament.

Ed Cooley became Providence College’s 15th head coach on March 22, 2011. He led Providence to a victory in the Big East Tournament Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the 2013-2014 season.
Cooley has a 221-141 record in 11 seasons at Providence College, including six NCAA Tournament appearances, a Sweet 16 berth (2022), a BIG EAST Regular Season Title (2022), and a BIG EAST Tournament Title (2014).
