Rick Pitino is the head basketball coach at Iona College in New York. Rick Pitino won the national championship in 1996  with Kentucky and in 2013  with Louisville, which was later vacated.

Rick was also the head coach of Greece’s senior national team. He has been the head coach of several teams in NCAA Division I including Boston University (1978–1983), Providence College (1985–1987), the University of Kentucky (1989–1997), the University of Louisville (2001–2017), and Panathinaikos of the Greek Basket League and EuroLeague (2018–2020).

Rick Pitino has also had a successful NBA coaching career. From 1987 to 1989, he coached the New York Knicks, leading them to the playoffs in both seasons. Pitino later became the head coach of the Boston Celtics from 1997 to 2001.

Pitino remains one of the most successful and respected basketball coaches in history, despite his NBA coaching record not being as successful as his college coaching record.

Pitino has received numerous awards and honours for his coaching abilities throughout his career. In 1987, 1996, and 2013, he was named Naismith College Coach of the Year.

Pitino was also inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013, solidifying his place as one of the sport’s all-time greats.
