Who Is Patrick Vieira?
Patrick Vieira is a former football player and football manager, and immediate past manager of the Premier League club Crystal Palace.
Born on June 23, 1976, in Dakar Senegal, Vieira was one of the greatest midfielders during his playing career.
Vieira began playing at Cannes, and went on to play for AC Milan, Arsenal and Juventus.

While he played for Arsenal, he was captain of the team from 2002 until 2005, and helped the club win four FA Cups and three league titles.

Vieira was “named in the Premier League PFA Team of the Year for six years back-to-back.”
He also played for Inter Milan and Manchester City, where he won four league titles, and another FA Cup respectively.
For 12 years, Vieira played for France, representing in the 1998 FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Euro 2000, the 2002 World Cup, Euro 2004, the 2006 World Cup, and Euro 2008.
He retired in 2010, after making 107 appearances.
Upon retirement, Vieira began coaching the academy at Manchester City in 2013. He further coached the Major League Soccer (MLS) club New York City FC, the Ligue 1 club Nice and Crystal Palace.
Vieira was fired from Crystal Palace in March 2023, after spending 18 months.
He had reportedly failed to lead the team to a victory after 12 games, “with their last win coming against Bournemouth on New Year’s Eve 2022.”
