Kleber had a strong start to the 2020-21 season, averaging 7.4 points per game and shooting 47.2% from three-point range in his first nine games. Kleber would miss the next ten games as he recovered from COVID-19.
Maxi Kleber scored 25 points and hit eight 3-pointers in a 110-104 win over the Utah Jazz in Game 2 of the first round of the playoffs on April 18, 2022. He signed a four-year contract extension with the Mavericks in the offseason of 2022.
