Why was Diplo jailed? Did Diplo do something bad?

Back in 2011, Diplo was arrested at The Standard hotel in New York City after getting into a violent bar fight.

Diplo was also arrested in Florida on February 13, 1999, for the misdemeanour of second-degree trespassing, however, the case was later dropped.

A woman named Shelly Auguste came forward to accuse Diplo of several crimes, including rape, grooming herself and other “very young girls”. Auguste filed and received a restraining order against Diplo, however, charges were never filed for the alleged rape.

In 2021, a fourth woman came forward, claiming she was raped by Diplo in 2019 after a Las Vegas performance, However, Diplo is yet to be charged with a crime.

Diplo is an American DJ and music producer known as the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer.

Diplo and singer Mark Ronson’s 4th single featuring British singer/songwriter Dua Lipa, called “Electricity” won a Grammy at the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards for Best Dance Recording in 2018.
