Born on January 21, 1986, in Rio Grande Do Norte, Brazil, Freire has competed in many Brazilian promotions.

In 2021, Freire took part in Bellator 270, where he faced Peter Queally and won the bout by a second round technical knockout.
He was then scheduled to face Sidney Outlaw at Bellator 283, to defend his title, but the bout didn’t hold.
Freire lost the title to Usman Nurmagomedov in 2022, via a unanimous decision.
In 2023, Freire was selected to participate in the $1 million Lightweight Grand Prix.
So far, he has recorded 24 wins out of 35 bouts.
