J. P. McManus Health: Does JP McManus have dementia

JP McManus is an Irish businessman and racehorse owner. JP McManus does not have dementia. However, McManus was diagnosed with cancer in late 2008 and was said to have recovered well after receiving treatment in the United States.

JP McManus began his business career in his family’s construction plant. Soon after, he found his calling as an on-course bookmaker at Limerick’s greyhound racecourse, the Market’s Field.

His first horse was named Cill Dara after an Irish county. McManus’ first Cheltenham Festival winner was Mister Donovan in 1982. Former champion jockey Jonjo O’Neill trains some of his horses at the Jackdaws Castle facility, which McManus owns.

JP McManus’ horse Don’t Push It, ridden by McCoy and trained by O’Neill, won the Grand National Steeplechase in 2010. McManus won the Grand National for the second time in 2021 with his horse Minella Times, ridden by Rachael Blackmore and trained by Henry De Bromhead.

For many years, he has hosted a charity pro-am that has raised millions of dollars for local charities, and the biggest names in golf descended on Adare Manor once again last summer.

When AP McCoy finally won the Grand National on Don’t Push It in 2010, he got a round with Tiger Woods at McManus’ pro-am.
