American actor, Brendan Fraser once shared that he stopped auditioning for roles because he sustained injuries during filming and had to be in and out of the hospital. In 1999, while filming the Mummy, he nearly died from suffocation during his hanging scene in the opening of the film. He was only saved when his partner, Rachel Weisz realized he had stopped breathing and was even in need of resuscitation. The crew members admitted that it was a huge mistake.

He had multiple surgeries including a laminectomy, a back operation to relieve stress on the spinal cord or nerves, partial joint surgery of the knee, other back procedures to weld the compressed spinal pads, repair of the vocal cord, and other procedures.

In 2018, he revealed in an interview that he was sexually assaulted by the former President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Philip Berk at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2003. However, Berk denied the allegations and shared that he only invited Fraser to laugh.

Brendan Fraser shared that his phone stopped ringing when he went public about being sexually assaulted by the Hollywood top guy, Berk. However, he has made a comeback in 2022. He played a lead role in the movie, The Whale – a psychological drama which he played the role of Charlie, a reclusive and unhealthy English teacher.
