During that time, he was the fourth youngest player to gain such a great achievement after Cap Anson, Honus Wagner, and Nap Lajoie. He reached the milestone in his 2,135th game. He was also the youngest player to reach 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000. He gained these achievements while playing in the American League. He was also the fastest man to get to 4,000 hits.
