Although no cause of death was given, Gary Rossington had been dealing with health issues for several decades, particularly since the mid-2010s, when heart problems occasionally sidelined Rossington and the band.

Gary Rossington was the lead guitarist and a founding member of the southern rock band, which was formed in 1964.

He was an integral part of the band’s success and is known for his unique style of playing the guitar, which has contributed significantly to the band’s signature sound.

Lynyrd Skynyrd went through many changes over the years, including the tragic loss of three of its members in a plane crash in 1977.

The tragedy abruptly halted Lynyrd Skynyrd’s career until Van Zant’s brother Johnny reformed the band ten years later.

Despite the tragedy and loss of several band members, Lynyrd Skynyrd continued to make music and tour, with Rossington remaining an integral part of the band’s sound and success.
