Dave Wills (sportscaster) Parents: Who are Dave Wills’ parents?

Dave Wills was an American sportscaster who worked as the radio voice of the Tampa Bay Rays from 2005 until he died in 2023.

Dave Wills was born and raised in the Chicago area, where he was a “die-hard” fan of Major League Baseball’s Chicago White Sox (MLB). The names of his parents are not known.

Wills began his on-air broadcasting career in the Chicago media market, covering sports for radio stations WMAQ and WMVP.

Wills signed several contract extensions with the Tampa Bay Rays Radio Network and another “multi-year” contract after the 2017 season.

Dave Wills and his partner Andy Freed alternated play-by-play and colour commentator duties during Rays game broadcasts, usually trading roles every three innings.

Wills’ final Rays game was a spring training game against the New York Yankees on March 4, 2023, the day before he died. Wills was inducted into the Irish-American Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016.

Dave Wills died at his home on March 5, 2023, at the age of 58. A cause of death has not been revealed. However, in September 2022, Wills was hospitalized in Toronto with a heart condition, which was diagnosed as supraventricular tachycardia, and missed the last two weeks of the Rays’ season.
