American author, Dr. Seuss has six of his books canceled, several decades after its releases due to racist remarks and lines in the books. Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced that it would stop the publication of the following books;

  • McElligot’s Pool.
  • On Beyond Zebra!
  • Scrambled Eggs Super!
  • The Cat’s Quizzer.

According to sources, this decision was made after several feedback from teachers, specialists, and people working in academia, as well as experts reviewing the work of famous children’s books, shared.

Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families,” the company stated.

Some sources claim that Dr. Seuss had a history of expressing his racial biases and hate towards other races, dating way back to the 1920s. It was reported that while he was a student at Dartmouth College, he once drew Black boxers as gorillas and perpetuated Jewish stereotypes by portraying Jewish characters as financially stingy.
