Who Is Fran Drescher?

Fratncine Drescher is an actress, comedian, writer, activist, and trade union leader best known for appearing as Fran Fine in the TV sitcom The Nanny from 1993 to 1999.

Born on September 30, 1957, in New York, Drescher began acting in 1977, with the film Saturday Night Fever.

She went on to star in other films such as American Hot Wax (1978), Stranger in Our House (1978), Gorp (1980), The Hollywood Knights (1980), Doctor Detroit (1983), This Is Spinal Tap (1984), UHF (1989), Living with Fran, Happily Divorced, and Hotel Transylvania.

Drescher made Broadway appearances in Cinderella, Indebted, and many more.

Drescher was made a trade union leader of SAG-AFTRA in 2021.

Drescher has won many awards and nominations including two Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, 2009, the John Wayne Institute’s Woman of Achievement Award, and the LifeSaver Award by ELEM/Youth in Distress.
