Who Was Charles Foster? Coronation Street and Emmerdale actor turned ITV announcer dead

Famous actor and ITV host Charles Foster, who was a well-known figure on Granada TV in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, has died. He made appearances in well-known ITV serial operas like Coronation Street and Emmerdale as well as in his acting career.

He also worked as an announcer on TV series including Catchphrase and The Krypton Factor. He most recently did Judge Rinder’s voiceovers.

Granada Reports producer Rob Jaskowski paid respect to Charles and called him a kind guy. On social media, Charles’ supporters also shared their condolences.

One individual said that Charles was the “Voice of Granada” and had a strong presence both on and off camera.

Another admirer lamented his loss, stating that they had grown accustomed to seeing him on Granada TV and that he had brought solace to their living room.

Many individuals who grew up in the North West of England during Charles Foster’s tenure on the channel have vivid memories of his silky voice saying “This is Granada.”

His contributions to the profession will be missed. He was a gifted actor and a vital member of the ITV network for many years.
