George Lucas is an American filmmaker who is best known for creating the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. He is the founder of LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, THX, and Lucasfilm which he sell to The Walt Disney Company in 2012.

He decided to attend Modesto Junior College before enrolling in the University of Southern California film school. As a film student, he made several short films including Electronic Labyrinth THX 1138 4EB (1967) which won first prize at the 1967-68 National Student Film Festival.
