According to some sources, Motson might have possibly died due to cancer. This is because, in 2014, he was diagnosed with bowel cancer and was made to miss the 2014 Brazil World Cup. However, he announced that the sickness was ‘dealt with.’
“I consider myself very lucky I was diagnosed so early that the cancer was dealt with and the positiveness came about because I wanted to get back into my normal life. That drive and determination was probably the most positive thing I could’ve done,” he said in an interview after the diagnosis.
