Shamima Begum, who is now 22 years old, has three children.

Begum, who was born in London to parents from Bangladesh, left the country when she was 15 years old and travelled to Syria via Turkey.

She moved to Syria, married Dutch fighter Yago Riedijk, and lived in Raqqa, the self-declared caliphate’s capital, for four years before being found in a detention facility.

The baby was Jerah Begum, Shamima Begum’s son. The reports assert that the newborn baby died three weeks after delivery, nevertheless. The baby’s medical record indicates that pneumonia was the cause of death.

An official reported that Begum’s newborn son passed away at a Syrian refugee camp in March 2019.

According to a medical record, the infant, who was less than three weeks old, died of pneumonia. She earlier revealed to reporters that she also lost two additional kids to sickness and hunger.

Since leaving Britain, she has given birth to three children, but all of them have since passed away. Begum’s attempt to leave the camp and return to the UK was denied in court on February 26, 2021.

She is currently 23 years old and is appealing the Home Office’s decision to revoke her British citizenship. She requests permission to return to the UK so she can continue her appeal.
