Turkish Americans live in all fifty states, however, the largest concentrations are found in New York City and Rochester, New York; Washington, D.C.; and Detroit, Michigan.

The largest concentration of Turkish Americans is in New York/New Jersey and in California. Turkey is among the most visited countries in the world and is known for its beautiful landscapes, including its beaches, mountains, and historical sites such as the ancient city of Ephesus, the Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque.

Turkey is also a member of several international organizations, including NATO, the United Nations, and the G20. Turkey remained neutral during most of World War II but entered the closing stages of the war on the side of the Allies.
The country’s capital is Ankara, but its largest city and main financial centre is Istanbul. Turkey has been inhabited by various civilizations throughout its history, including the Hittites, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans.
