Hill Street Blues is a critically acclaimed American serial police procedural television series that aired on NBC in prime-time from January 15, 1981, to May 12, 1987, for 146 episodes.

Created by Steven Bochco and Michael Kozoll, the show Hill Street Blues depicted the lives of the police officers and staff working at the fictional Hill Street police station in an unnamed, crime-ridden city.
The series later aired in reruns on TV Land, Bravo, AmericanLife TV, and NuvoTV. The show won a total of 26 Emmy Awards (out of 98 Emmy Award nominations) during its run.
In 1993, TV Guide named the series its All-Time Best Cop Show in an issue celebrating 40 years of television. In 1998, Entertainment Weekly named it in the top 20 television shows of all time.
