Jack Carter, the eldest child of Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter, is an entrepreneur and politician.

Born on July 3, 1947, in Portsmouth, Virginia, Jack ran for a seat in the Senate in 2006, but lost to John Ensign in the general election.
Jack worked at his father’s peanut farm warehouse, before he went to college in 1965.

He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he studied nuclear physics, Emory University, Georgia Southwestern State University, and University of Georgia School of Law, after he bagged his Juris Doctor in 1975.

Upon graduation, he served in the United States Navy, and during the Vietnam War, on the salvage ship USS Grapple (ARS-7).
Jack was dismissed from the Navy due to allegations bordering on smoking of marijuana at the Naval Reactors Facility.
Jack authored the book, “Midterm Report: The Class of ’65: Chronicles Of An American Generation” (1986), a book that portrays “the perspective of two decades post-high school graduation.”
