The company with the largest holding, Deutsche Telekom AG, a multinational telecommunications giant, owns 48.4% of the common shares as of August 2022. T-Mobile US had more than 110 million members as of the end of the second quarter of 2022, making it the country’s second-largest wireless carrier.

T-Mobile became the sole owner of Sprint after merging with Sprint Corporation on April 1, 2020, thereby making Sprint a part of T-Mobile until the Sprint brand was formally dropped on August 2, 2020.

T-Mobile US purchased Assurance Wireless as part of the acquisition, the service being funded by the federal Universal Service Fund’s Lifeline Assistance program.
