Mary Tyler Moore was an American actress, producer, and social advocate.

Born on December 29, 1936, is famous for hosting The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show in the 1960s and 1970s.

As an actress, she appeared in the musical film Thoroughly Modern Millie and Ordinary People, a role which earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the Academy Awards.

As a social advocate, Moore fought for animal rights, vegetarianism and diabetes prevention.

She was a winner of seven Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards.

Moore passed away on January 25, 2017, at age 80.

She had suffered from cardiopulmonary arrest complicated by pneumonia and was admitted at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Moore was buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, Connecticut.
