Former professional ice hockey player, Rick DiPietro signed one of the longest contracts in the history of Ice Hockey sports. He signed a 15-year contract with the New York Islanders.

How much was Rick DiPietro contract worth?

Rick DiPietro’s 15-year-contract also came with a huge bag. The deal was signed on September 12, 2006. According to reports, it was supposed to pay the brash and confident netminder $4.5 million each season until 2021, which amounted to $67.5 million in total.

How long is Rick DiPietro buyout?

Reports state that, the New York Islanders have not bought out a contract since the remaining eight years of Rick DiPietro’s 16-year contract that was bought out in 2013 Summer. He is reportedly still receiving an annual payment of $1.5 million until the end of the 2028-2029 season. His buyout is arguably the longest in the history of the National Hockey League.

Even though he is now a  radio show host, he still benefits heavily from his contract as a player.
