Former American football player Stanley Wilson Jr. passed away on February 1, 2023, after he slumped at a psychiatric hospital. He was aged 40.

Stanley had been in police custody after he was charged for a burglary attempt.
He was declared mentally unfit for trial and was moved from county jail to the Metropolitan State Hospital in Los Angeles.
Autopsy and other investigations are currently ongoing.

Stanley played the cornerback position for the Detroit Lions who drafted him as 72nd overall, in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

After three seasons, he suffered Achilles injury and that ended his career.
Stanley’s entire career saw him play in 32 games, recording 86 tackles, eight passes deflected, and one forced fumble.
Afterwards, Stanley sustained gunshot wounds during an attempt to burgle his neighbor’s house in Portland.
He was also arrested for walking naked around the neighborhood.
Additionally, he was arrested again for taking a bath in an outdoor fountain.
