Jerry Lawler, well known by his ring name Jerry “The King” Lawler, was born in the United States on November 29, 1949. He is now signed to WWE, although since April 2020, he hasn’t worked as a full-time commentator.

He competed in professional wrestling for many years in many areas until joining WWE (then known as the World Wrestling Federation) in 1992. During his career, he won numerous championships, including multiple World Heavyweight Championships. Lawler has won the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship 28 times. He previously held the AWA World Heavyweight Championship once and the WCWA World Heavyweight Championship three times. Lawler unified the championships by defeating Kerry Von Erich at Superclash III.

On July 23, 1989, Jerry Lawler met Stacy “The Kat” Carter at a charity softball game in Memphis, Tennessee. She would later become his third wife. In September 2000, they got hitched. Carter, a valet who has also appeared in matches, was let go by the World Wrestling Federation in the middle of February 2001. Lawler then protestively left the business. Shortly before Lawler returned to the WWF in November 2001, Carter and Lawler eventually split. On October 15, 2003, their divorce became legally binding.
