Who Is Taner Savut? Meet The Hatayspor Sporting Director Trapped Under Rubble With Christian Atsu After 7.7-magnitude Earthquake Hit Turkey

Tanner Savut is a Turkey citizen and one of Hatayspor’s sporting director. Savut was born on August 10, 1974.

Savut and Hatayspor player Christian Atsu have been missing, following the earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 6, 2023.

Several Hatayspor players were trapped in the rubble but only Savut and Atsu are yet to be found.

A 7.8 magnitude earthquake had hit south-eastern Turkey and northern Syria followed by another 7.5.

About 1,700 people have reportedly lost their lives and rescue operatives are still searching for survivors.

Who Is Christian Atsu?

Christian Atsu is a footballer who plays as a winger and attacking midfielder for Turkish Süper Lig club Hatayspor and the Ghana national team.

Born on January 10, 1992, in Ada Foah, Ghana, Atsu began playing with Porto in 2011, and has since spent time playing for Rio Ave, Chelsea, Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth, Málaga, Newcastle United, Newcastle United, Al-Raed, and then Hatayspor in 2022.

Atsu has made over 60 caps so far in his career. On the international front, he represented Ghana at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
